The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Neuroscience. Responsibilities include teaching psychology and neuroscience courses. This position will teach 24 credits annually (4/4 standard fall/spring course teaching load) in the psychology department and the neuroscience program. This position will teach classes in both the undergraduate and (possibly) graduate programs as assigned by the Psychology Department Chair. Opportunities to teach in the summer and winter semesters may be available at the undergraduate and graduate levels for additional compensation depending on the needs of the Psychology Department. This position is expected to establish and maintain an active research program in the neuroscience field. In addition, the position will be expected to contribute service to UW-Parkside, the College of Natural and Health Sciences, the Psychology Department, profession and community including advising students in the psychology program. The individual will be centrally involved in developing, implementing and teaching courses in the neuroscience concentration. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching neuroscience courses (including having served as a teaching assistant), supervising undergraduate or graduate student research, and working with students and staff from culturally diverse backgrounds. Perform other duties as assigned.
