The Assistant Director of the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (OMSA) is responsible for assisting the campus in access, retention and persistence to graduation of multicultural and first generation students of various backgrounds. Responsibilities also include leadership of multicultural educational programming and leadership opportunities for students, student advocacy and development, being a campus resource ensuring student knowledge and use of campus resources and services, and professional development opportunities for staff. Manage and lead the day to day operations of the office of Multicultural Student Affairs. The Assistant Director of OMSA provides supervision and assessment of services and personnel, manages conflicts, and develops effective communication and relationships with students, faculty, staff and administration. In addition, serves on various committees to provide insight and understanding of the various populations entering higher education. The Assistant Director ensures accountability of the department budgets and prepares and administers the budget for OMSA. Required: • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration or related field. • Experience managing staff, projects and budgets • Experience developing and managing programs supporting Multicultural/Disadvantaged students and first generation students.
